Bhubaneswar: British influencer Sam Pepper had an unpleasant experience after trying ‘Bhang’ during his recent visit to India.
In a video, which has gone viral, Pepper is seen lying on a hospital bed and getting treated for digestive issues after consuming ‘Bhang’ from a local vendor.
In the footage, an elderly Indian man is seen preparing ‘Bhang’, a herbal intoxicant prepared from the leaves of cannabis, for the British influencer, who looked quite excited to give it a try. In another video, Pepper is seen breaking down as the Indian nurses left his IV drip valve undone, thereby adding to his woes.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users are trolling the influencer and making fun of him, some others are sympathising with him.
One user wrote, “India’s food and drinks aren’t for everyone—hope he recovers soon!”
“Bhang is not for the faint-hearted, especially for first-timers. Poor guy,” wrote another.
“He thought he was ready for Bhang—India’s not that simple, mate!” one user jested.
“Maybe he should have stuck to chai—definitely safer!” one commented.
