Cuttack/Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Wednesday requested the Crime Branch to probe the the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak.
Informing this to the media in the afternoon at the BSE headquarters in Cuttack, secretary of the Board Ramashis Hazra said the Board in a letter has requested the state investigating agency to conduct a thorough probe into the incident.
Talking to mediapersons in Bhubaneswar later in the day, School and Mass Education minister Badri Narayan Patra said while the Board has sought a Crime Branch probe, he has ordered a departmental probe into the incident and appropriate action would be taken against those involved in the incident.
He urged the students not to get disheartened over the incident as the Board will conduct the examination again.
The BSE had cancelled the examination as the students after appearing for the test in the first sitting complained that the question paper uploaded on the social media were similar to the original one.
About 1.12 lakh students had taken the test at 250 centres in the state.
