BSF Recovers Maoist Dump From Reserve Forest In Odisha’s Malkangiri
Malkangiri: The BSF personnel have unearthed a Maoist dump in a reserve forest in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Tuesday.
On the basis of specific information, the BSF troops of 2 Bn BSF carried out an operation in Tulsi Dongri Reserve Forest of the district. During intensive search in the targeted area, the BSF jawans located the Maoist dump in a rock cavity on the foothills of Tulsi Dongri Reserve Forest near Kirmiti village under Mathili police station.
The BSF team recovered one IED, gun powder of around 300 gram, solar plate with wire, flexible wire, two torches, one iron cutter, one knife and batteries besides Maoist dresses and household articles from the dump.
In the wake of recovery, further combing and search operations would continue to make the area safe for security forces as well as local people.
It may be noted that the area used to be highly influenced by Maoists and their sympathisers earlier. The Maoist outfits would keep IEDs, arms and IED making materials at isolated places to be used against the security forces, and police operating in the area. However, following intensive operation by the BSF in the district, the Maoist domination has drastically come down, said a release from BF.d extensively dominating the area.
