Bhubaneswar: Two days after the 2 pm burglary at former Odisha Congress chief Niranjan Patnaik’s residence, two thieves were again found lurking at a house near his in the upscale VIP Colony under Nayapalli police limits in Bhubaneswar on Monday night.
The thieves were caught on camera scaling the wall, conducting a reece and attempting to enter the house through a window around 11.30 pm. They, however, fled after house staff raised an alarm. One among them was later caught by police, sources said.
The house owner told the media that the thieves tried to open an almirah in the outhouse. “Though security has been tightened and patrolling increased in the area since January 26 burglary, still such attempts are being made leading to panic. It seems that the thieves have taken police for granted,” she added.
