Bhubaneswar: A speeding bus mowed down a pedestrian near Trikona in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Sunday morning and then turned turtle injuring 10 passengers.
According to sources, the mishap took place around 7.30 am when a private bus named ‘Arupananda’ travelling from Bhadrak to Bonth, hit a pedestrian and then overturned near Trikona.
While the pedestrian was killed, the injured passengers of the bus were rushed to Bhadrak District Headquarter Hospital for treatment.
Irate villagers alleged the mishap occurred because of rash driving and staged a road blockade. Local police rushed to the spot and initiated a probe, sources added.
