Balasore: A businessman was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Phiringipatna area under Sahadevkhunta police limits in Balasore district on Saturday night.
He was identified as Manas Ranjan Das.

The incident took place at around 11 pm when Manas was about to open the gate of his house after reaching home. As soon as he parked his motorcycle near his house, two miscreants came on a bike and shot him in his chest.
Das was rushed to the district headquarters hospital by police in a critical condition. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.
Police sources said Manas was running a transport business. The incident is suspected to be the fallout of an old enmity.
