A range of topics related to cardiovascular diseases and their management was presented by experts.

Dr Siddharth Mishra, Medical Superintendent at AMRI Bhubaneswar, emphasised on the importance of organising such events to update medical professionals on advances in the field of cardiology.

Dr Mishra said that the hospital has conducted over 10,000 Coronary Angiograms (CAG), 5,000 PTCAs, and 1,000 CABG procedures.

“In addition, we have also conducted more than 1,500 other cath lab procedures, taking our total cath lab procedures to more than 17,000,” he said.

Dr JK Padhi, Director of Cardiology at AMRI Bhubaneswar, presented a session on Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), a minimally invasive procedure that has revolutionised treatment of aortic stenosis, a common heart valve condition.

Another interesting session was presented by Dr Lingaraj Nath, HoD Cardiology, AMRI Bhubaneswar, on new therapies in lipid management of coronary artery diseases. Sharing the latest developments in this area, Dr Nath provided insights into how patient outcomes can be further improved.

Top Interventional Cardiologist Dr Mahesh Agarwala presented a case study on unexplained syncope, a condition where a patient experiences fainting without an apparent cause. His presentation demonstrated the importance of careful diagnosis and management of such cases, which can be life-threatening if left untreated.

Dr Dibya Ranjan Behera, Consultant, Cardiac Sciences, AMRI Bhubaneswar, deliberated on recent advancements in interventional cardiology and provided a glimpse into the future of interventional cardiology.

“Our success in the field of cardiology is a testament to the expertise of our team of doctors and healthcare professionals, as well as our commitment to providing the best possible care to our patients. We have state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, along with a team of highly trained and experienced staff, who work tirelessly to ensure that our patients receive the best possible treatment and care,” said Mr Rupak Barua, Group CEO of AMRI Hospitals.

He added that AMRI Bhubaneswar is committed to continuing its efforts in providing the best possible care to patients and contribute to the advancement of the field of cardiology through research and innovation.

“We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and contributing to the ongoing efforts to improve cardiovascular health in the community,” Barua said.
