Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar regions saw a further drop in performance in Class XII exam, the results of which was declared on Friday, with a pass percentage of 83.89 against 90.37 the previous year. The pass percentage in 2021 XII Board exams was 99.55.
However, it climbed two spots in overall pass percentage to occupy the 11th position among the 16 regions in the senior school certificate exam. It was ranked 13th in 2022.
The overall pass percentage for Class XII is 87.33 per cent, which is also a dip from last year when the CBSE had conducted the exams in two terms— the first term was held in November and December and the second term in May and June — and saw 92.71 per cent clearing the exam. Girls outshined boys again this year by a margin of 6.01 per cent. Girls continued to perform better with a passing percentage of 90.68 per cent while 84.67 per cent boys managed to pass the exam. Trivandrum continued to be best performing region yet again followed by Bengaluru and Chennai. With 78.05 per cent, Prayagraj is at the bottom of the list.

“Around 17 lakh candidates appeared in the exam. The result percentage is a little lesser than last year. Girls have again performed very well, more than 90% pass percentage was recorded in girls. If any student scores less than 33% marks in one subject out of 5, they have to clear the compartment exam which will be conducted in July,” Controller of Examinations, CBSE, Sanyam Bhardwaj told ANI.
