New Delhi: With the evaluation of the answer books of the board examinations kicking off on Friday, CBSE has announced a change in pass criteria of the class X examinations.
In a statement, it said that the pass criteria will be based on the combined marks of the theory exams as well as the internal assessment. “Now, the combines marks of the internal assessment and theory examinations are considered for deciding the pass criteria,” CBSE said in a statement.
As reported earlier by Odisha Bytes, CBSE said marking scheme will give weightage to creative, correct and relevant answers. This is being done to discourage students from adopting rote learning and encourage them to adopt creative learning methods The emphasis will be given on a students command over the fundamentals so as to help them clear the competitive exams with confidence.
A total of 31,14,831 candidates registered for the Board exams this year of which 18,27,472 were registered for Class 10 while 12,87,359 were registered for Class 12. The results are expected to be declared by May-end.
