New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially dismissed widespread rumours circulating on social media and some media outlets claiming that Class 10 and Class 12 board exam results will be announced tomorrow, May 2.
A senior CBSE official confirmed that the result date has not been finalized, and no formal announcement has been made regarding the declaration of results tomorrow.
Students and parents are urged to steer clear of misinformation and rely solely on updates provided through CBSE’s official websites — cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in.
What Past Trends Say
Based on past trends, CBSE is expected to declare the results around the second week of May 2025. Last year, the board announced the results on May 13, and a similar timeline is anticipated this year. Any reports suggesting the results will be declared as early as May 2 are baseless and should be disregarded.
This year, over 44 lakh students appeared for the CBSE board exams — approximately 24.12 lakh for Class 10 and 17.88 lakh for Class 12. As in previous years, the results for both classes are likely to be released on the same day.
How to Check Results
Once the results are officially declared, students can access their provisional marksheets online using their roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth. Original marksheets will later be distributed through the respective schools.
Performance Trends
In 2024, Class 12 students recorded a pass percentage of 87.98%, reflecting a positive trend compared to the previous year. Class 10 students performed even better, achieving a pass percentage of 93.60%, up by 0.48% from 2023.
Advice for Students
CBSE advises all students and parents to wait for an official notice regarding the result declaration date and to avoid falling for unverified news on social media or unofficial platforms.
