Sambalpur: The tragic death of two brothers after falling into a well in Laxmi Talkies area of Sambalpur late on Monday has been captured in a CCTV camera.
The deceased siblings, identified as Sunil Tripathy (30) and Sushil Tripathy (25) of Sahu Colony, can be seen sitting on the edge of the well and having a conversation with another person in the footage. Suddenly, one of them loses balance and falls into the well, while dragging the other down too in a bid to save himself.
The duo was fished out of the well around 1 am by Fire Service personnel. They were then rushed to the district headquarters hospital and admitted to the critical care unit. Despite all attempts by the treating physicians, the siblings breathed their last this morning, sources said.
The police have seized the CCTV, in which the entire incident was captured, and begun an investigation.
