Celebrating Ganesh Puja In Unique Ways: Idols Made Of Chocolate & Tree…

Bhubaneswar: It’s Ganesh Chaturthi today and various puja committees and organisations have installed idols of Lord Ganesh to celebrate the festival. Here are some unique Ganesh idols which have been prepared to celebrate the festival.

Chocolate Ganesh

Club Chocolate in Bhubaneswar has prepared a 4-ft Ganesh idol with 100 kg chocolate and gold dust. It has been prepared under the supervision of Club Chocolate co-founder Rakesh Kumar Sahoo. Club Chocolate is a school of baking and fine pastry art located in Sisupalgarh, Bhubaneswar.

Tree Ganesh

Like last year, Bakul Foundation in Bhubaneswar is celebrating Ganesh Puja with a tree shaped as Lord Ganesh inside Biju Patnaik Park, where Bakul has set up a tree library and park library. Bakul has been following the practice since 2018 but could not do so in 2020 because of the pandemic.

Sago & black pepper Ganesh

An artiste from Bhopal has prepared a Ganesh idol using sago and black pepper. “Sabudana, black pepper, peacock feather sticks and wooden spoons have been used to make it. No colour has been used,” sculptor Ravi Yadav was quoted as saying.

51-ft Ganesh

The Badagada Bright Star Club in Bhubaneswar has constructed a 51-ft Ganesh idol. The idol has been prepared using Plaster of Paris, bamboo and thermocol. The Akhandalamani Club has built a 50-ft idol at Nayapalli’s Nuasahi. While Shahid Nagar Winner Club has made a 46-ft Ganesh idol, Tala Padia Club in Sailashree Vihar Phase-2 has built a 40-ft Ganesh idol.
