Centre To Sell 31,000 Tonne Of Foodgrain Through FCI In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: In order to moderate the market price of wheat and rice, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has decided to sell surplus stock of wheat and rice through Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Odisha.
According to an FCI release on Friday, the surplus foodgrain would be sold under Open Market Sale Scheme (domestic) at predetermined price through e-auction in the open market.
In the current week, total 31,000 tonne of foodgrain has been earmarked for e-auction through 18 centres of FCI Odisha Region. Those include 21,000 tonne of wheat and 10,000 tonne of rice.
