Bargarh: The half-burnt body of a 60-year-old woman was discovered under mysterious circumstances inside her home in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Sunday shocking everyone.
Residents of Hatpada Pada in Bargarh noticed smoke coming from the house of Draupadi Mahapatra, an elderly woman who was living alone in the morning. When locals rushed to the spot, they found her body partially burnt inside the premises near Uma Talkies. The discovery immediately raised suspicions, as it was unclear how she caught fire while sleeping at night.
A team from Bargarh police station visited the spot and recovered the body. It was sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators have not ruled out foul play, with suspicions that someone may have killed her and set the body ablaze to destroy evidence. Forensic experts have been called in to assist with the investigation.
