Malkangiri: A child drowned and two others went missing after their boat capsized in Sileru river near the Odisha-Andhra border on Monday morning.
According to reports, five persons from Kurmanur panchayat in Chitrakonda police station area in Malkangiri district were travelling to a weekly haat at Mangampodu when the boatman lost control and the boat capsized.

The inspector in-charge of Sileru police station informed that the boatman managed to rescue two persons. However, a child and two others went missing.
Till reports last came in, fire service personnel had begun search operations to trace the bodies of the three persons.
