New Delhi: Indians have demanded strict action against those involved in the making and circulation of a video that shows a little girl, with an AK-47 assault rifle slung across her chest, threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The video, circulating on social media, comes at a time when the PM is on a two-day official trip to Mauritius.
“If this is meant to be funny, it is not. It just shows the kind of radicalisation that some people are exposing their children to. Wonder where the child got that weapon from,” a social media user posted.
The identity of the child is unknown. Neither does the video give any indication of where the recording has taken place. The girl speaks in English though.
“Mr Modi, whatever you are, you stupid man, if you kill our country one more time, and mom and dad and children, I will kill you in your face, and you will see… I have got my gun with a lot of bullets, 50 bullets, and I will kill you in two hits. You will never be alive, and the doctor will not fix you – you will be DEAD – forever on the ground,” the child says.
The video is cut short as she says: “But Allah will not be happy with you. You stink.”
Security agencies suspect that the clip was recorded somewhere in Pakistan, at a time when things have started to get out of control in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistan has blamed India for the trouble in Balochistan. India has denied any role.
A similar video of a Pakistani man teaching his little daughter to fire an AK-47 had surfaced in 2016, on the day 19 Indian soldiers were killed in suicide attack on their camp in Uri. Even in that clip, the child had threatened to kill Modi.
