Bhubaneswar: Khurda Police on Friday night admitted the suspended BJD leader and Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev to the Capital Hospital, here.
The Khurda Additional District Judge Court-1 (ADJ), which had rejected the bail petition of Jagdev and remanded him to the district sub-jail, allowed his admission to the hospital after considering his cardiac ailments.
After the rejection of his bail plea by the ADJ court, police had conducted medical examination of Jagdev at the district headquarters hospital and sent him to the district sub-jail in the evening. Later, the police admitted him in the Capital Hospital on the direction of the court.

Jagadev, who had surrendered before the ADJ court on Friday on the direction of Orissa High Court, was accused of assaulting the BJP leader and president of Balugaon Mandal Niranjan Sethi on September 8.
Following a complaint by Sethi, Balugan police had registered a case against Jagdev under the SC & ST Atrocities Act.
Later, BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik suspended him from the party.
