Kedarnath: Six people, including two pilots, were killed after a chopper carrying pilgrims crashed near Kedarnath in Uttarakhand on Tuesday.
According to reports, the chopper, owned by Aryan Aviation Private Limited, took off from Guptkashi and was on its way to Kedarnath. It was set to cover 33km.
However, the chopper crashed near Garud Chatti, due to bad and cloudy weather, approximately 2km from Kedarnath. On getting the information, the administration team arrived at the spot for immediate relief and rescue work.
Bodies of two pilots and four civilians have been recovered so far and a rescue operation is underway, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (IBTP) told the media.
