Dense To Very Dense Fog May Persist In Odisha Till Jan 6; Dip In Mercury Likely After 3 Day

Bhubaneswar: Dense to very dense fog may continue to engulf parts of Odisha till January 6 morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.

The weather agency has issued orange and yellow warnings.

Very dense fog may occur at isolated pockets in districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Cuttack and Khurda till January 2 morning. Dense fog is also likely in Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh.

Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at a few places in the districts of Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Kalahandi,
Rayagada, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Khurda, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh.

Very dense fog warning continues for Jagatsinghpur district till January 3 morning. Dense fog may also occur at isolated pockets in districts of Puri, Kendrapada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khurda, Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundargarh and Kandhamal.

Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at a few places in Koraput, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khurda, Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundargarh and Kandhamal.

Very dense fog may engulf isolated pockets in districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda and Cuttack during the subsequent 24 hours till January 4 morning. Dense fog is also likely at isolated pockets in Kendrapada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Sundargarh.

Shallow to moderate fog may occur at a few places in the districts of Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Sundargarh.

Very dense fog warning continues for isolated pockets of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri and Jagatsinghpur till January 6 morning. Dense fog may also occur in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Khurda and Sundargarh.

Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at a few places in the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Khurda and Sundargarh.

While there is no further orange warning, dense fog may continue to shroud isolated pockets in districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh and Sundargarh till January 6 morning.

Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at a few places in Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh and Sundargarh.

The IMD further predicted a rise in the night temperature by 2-3 degrees during the next 3 days. The mercury levels are likely to fall across the state thereafter by 2-4 degrees, it added.
