Puri: A Class IX student of Balukeshwar Government High School at Khajuria under Brahmagiri block of Odisha’s Puri district sustained serious burns while attempting a dangerous fire-based stunt using petrol.
As per information, the incident took place during lunch break in his school when the boy attempted a dangerous stunt involving petrol. He was rushed to the Rebana Nuagaon Community Health Centre (CHC) and later referred to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Puri.
As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for further treatment.
While the exact reason for the stunt was not known immediately, sources claimed that the boys were reportedly making reels when the tragic incident happened.
The student was reportedly trying to perform a fire-based stunt using petrol, possibly to mimic content seen online or on social media when the petrol accidentally caught fire.
