Kendrapada: In a shocking incident, a Class X student was allegedly gang-raped by five men, including her uncle, at a village in Rajnagar area of Odisha’s Kendrapada district.
Based on a complaint filed by the family members of the survivor, Rajnagar police registered a case and detained the accused persons in connection with the incident that reportedly took place on Rakhi Purnima on August 9. The police are interrogating the give accused.
As per the complaint lodged by the victim’s family, the incident occurred when the girl was taken by her uncle to a nearby shop to buy cold drinks. Four other accused were reportedly waiting there. The accused persons forcibly took the girl to a secluded spot and took turns to raped her. The uncle also allegedly raped her.
The girl’s family reported the matter to the Rajnagar police station on Monday night. The accused are currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway.
