Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, has opened a window of opportunity for students, who recently took admission in Class XI and wish to change their stream.
In a communication sent to higher secondary and junior college principals, the Directorate has said that switching over to another stream would be allowed, and the interested students can do so by September 10.
A student can submit his application to the principal, expressing the desire to change the stream, but subject to availability of the seat in the particular stream.
The guidelines sent by the Directorate are as follows:
1. Should the number of applicants exceed the vacant seats, a merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by them.
2. No reservation or weightage will be considered for preparation of the merit list.
3. There will be no increase in the number of seats if the applicants exceed the vacant seats.
4. The student should keep in mind that the total mark secured by him/her should not be below the cut-off mark of the stream to which he/she wants to change.
5. The stream change and updated admission information shall be completed in the SAMS portal between September 11 and 13.
