Bhubaneswar: Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chanda Patra had a close shave on Friday after his vehicle met with an accident at Sandhapur Square under Baranga police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Friday.
According to sources, the accident took place at around 8-8.30 am when Patra was returning to Bhubaneswar from Athagarh after a planned event at Angul was cancelled. A truck reportedly rammed into the car, in which the minister was traveling, when it was overtaking, damaging the right side of the bumper. Luckily, no one was injured.
On being informed, Barang police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The truck involved in the accident has been seized and the driver has been detained for questioning. “The minister and his driver are unhurt and safe. He used another vehicle and returned to Bhubaneswar,” IIC of Barang police station Debendra Biswal told the media.
