Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 41.71 crore for 170 panchayats in seven blocks of six districts under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana at the block level.
The chief minister sanctioned the amount for 1633 projects after interacting with the block representatives through video conferencing at the State Secretariat here.
“As the money is yours and the people of Odisha, you are requested to ensure quality work and timely completion of the projects in your locality,” the chief minister told the villagers, panchayat and block representatives.
Of the sanctioned amount, Rs 3.49 crore has been earmarked for 123 projects in 14 panchayats of Sonepur block in Sonepur district, Rs 2.95 crore for 189 projects in 11 panchayats of Oupada block and Rs 12 crore for 347 projects in 50 panchayats of Bhogarai block in Balasore district, Rs 4.39 crore for 199 projects in 23 panchayats of the Nandapur block in Koraput district, Rs 7.62 crore for 244 projects in 28 panchayats of the Rasulpur block in Jajpur district, Rs 6.99 crore for 181 projects in 24 panchayats of the Kantamala block in Boudh district and Rs 4.27 crore for 239 projects in 20 panchayats of the Mathili block in Malkangiri district.
This is for the ninth time that the state government has sanctioned the projects under the scheme at the block level which had begun on May 23.
Among others, development commissioner, principal secretary, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and senior officials of the concerned departments were present.
