Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a special package of Rs 1600 crore for livelihood support to affected farmers, fishermen and women self-help groups (SHGs) in the coastal districts, which were devastated by the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani on May 3.
Mentioned below is the list of package details announced by the Chief Minister.
—Agriculture input subsidy of Rs 6,800 per hectare of land in non-irrigated areas, Rs 13,500 per hectare of land in areas under assured irrigation and Rs 18,000 per hectare for all types of perennial crops.
—One lakh vegetable mini kits will be supplied to the Fani-affected districts.
—An incentive of Rs 15,000 per farmer will be provided for betel vine cultivation.
—Rs 40,000 per unit will be provided for the construction of shade nets or thatched structures for the development of mushroom units.
—An incentive of Rs 25000 per hectare will be provided to banana farmers.
—Compensation will be provided for loss of animals at the rate of Rs 30,000 for one milch cow and buffalo, Rs 25,000 for one draught animal and Rs 3000 per goat.
—Financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to affected farmers and Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) and support for the construction of cowsheds and goat sheds.
—50% of Rs 80,000 for a new FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) boat and 50% of Rs 20,000 for fishing nets will be provided.
—Financial assistance of Rs 12,200 per hectare shall be provided to the fish farmers.
—Additional seed money of Rs 10,000 will be given to the affected Women’s SHGs.
—Community Investment Fund of Rs 1 lakh to each Women’s SHG.
—Rs 50,000 will be provided to each Women SHG to take home ration produce.
