Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved Rs 1.15 crore for 23 projects in three panchayats of Jharsuguda, Angul and Balangir districts under Ama Gaon Ama Vikash Yojana.
Of the 23 projects, 8 projects would be implemented in the Durlaga gram panchayat of Jharsuguda district at a cost of Rs 38 lakh, 8 projects in Badakera gram panchayat of Angul district at a cost of Rs 37 lakh and 7 projects in Tikrapada gram panchayat of Balangir district at a cost of Rs 40 lakh.
While interacting with the Sarpanchs of these three Gram Panchayats in a video conferencing at the State Secretariat here, the chief minister granted financial assistance after considering their project infrastructure proposal.
To make the Ama Gaon Ama Vikash Yojana of the state government successful, the chief minister advised the Sarpanchs to expedite the project work for its timely completion with thorough supervision to ensure quality work.
He also wished the villagers on the eve of the Utkal Divas.
It may be mentioned that the Ama Gaon Ama Vikash Yojana was launched in the state on March 5 this year.
Under the Yojana, the chief minister interacts with the villagers on Wednesday and Friday in every week about the development in their village.
Since March 30 was a government holiday for Good Friday, the chief minister interacted with the people of these three panchayats on Saturday.
Among others, Development Commissioner, Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj were present at the video conferencing at the State Secretariat while the collectors of Jharsuguda, Angul and Bolangir districts interacted with the chief minister from their respective district headquarters.
