Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday granted Rs 1.40 crore for 37 projects in four panchayats of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Gajapati and Kalahandi districts under Ama Gaon Ama Vikash Yojana.
Of the 37 projects, 13 projects would be implemented in Goda gram panchayat of Jagatsinghpur district at a cost of Rs 35 lakh, nine in Taradinga gram panchayat of Cuttack district at a cost of Rs 35 lakh, seven in Chandragiri gram panchayat of Gajapati district at a cost of Rs 35 lakh and eight projects in Behera gram panchayat of Kalahandi district at a cost of Rs 35 lakh.
While interacting with sarpanchs of these three Gram Panchayats via video conferencing at the State Secretariat here, the chief minister granted financial assistance after considering their project infrastructure proposal.
To make the Ama Gaon Ama Vikash Yojana of the state government successful, the chief minister advised the sarpanchs to expedite the project work for timely completion with thorough supervision to ensure quality work.
People of these four panchayats praised the initiative and efforts of the chief minister for the development of their village.
Among others, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj were present during the video conferencing while collectors of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Gajapati and Kalahandi districts, besides elected representatives of the aforesaid panchayats interacted with the chief minister from their respective district headquarters.
It may be mentioned that Ama Gaon Ama Vikash Yojana was launched in the state on March 5 this year.
Under thescheme, the chief minister interacts with the villagers on Wednesday and Friday every week on development projects in their villages.
