Bhubaneswar: After successful roadshows in Hyderabad and Kolkata, Odisha is now set to take its investment momentum to Gujarat, with a 3-day 4 cities visit of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi from Tuesday.

Building a strong industrial bridge between East and West India, the visit aims to deepen business linkages with Gujarat’s manufacturing strength while opening new opportunities in Odisha’s rapidly expanding sectors. With a focus on textiles, chemicals & petrochemicals, metals & downstream industries, and pharmaceuticals, the visit is expected to generate investment intent from west cost of India.

Officials said the outreach will also strengthen engagement with the Odia diaspora in Gujarat, connecting them to the state’s growth story.

The visit marks a strategic effort to attract investments and forge long-term industrial partnerships. A flagship investors’ roadshow will be held in Ahmedabad on May 4, followed by roundtable discussions with top business leaders and one-on-one meetings with leading industry players, enabling focused and result-oriented engagements, a senior official said.

Key outcomes will include the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and exchange of Investment Intention Forms (IIFs), reflecting growing investor confidence in Odisha. Discussions will be centred on high-potential sectors including chemicals and petrochemicals, metal and downstream industries, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and textiles and apparel.

As part of its port-led development vision, the delegation will visit Mundra Port on May 5 to explore opportunities in logistics and port-based industries. An investor interaction in Vadodara on May 6 will further expand industry engagement with capital goods manufacturers. The delegation will also visit the Kevadia as part of the official programme.

The delegation includes Minister for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Sampad Chandra Swain along with senior government officials, highlighting Odisha’s strong commitment to investor facilitation.

Speaking ahead of the visit, CM Majhi said, “Odisha is fast emerging as a preferred investment destination with strong infrastructure and a skilled workforce. This Gujarat outreach will open new opportunities for our people, while creating jobs across key sectors in the state. We see this 3-day visit as a milestone to attract investments and invite industry partners to be part of Odisha’s growth journey towards a Samruddha Odisha by 2036.”

This high-level Gujarat visit marks a decisive step in Odisha’s ongoing efforts to attract investments, generate large-scale employment, and deepen industry partnerships. With focused engagements and strategic outreach, the visit is expected to further strengthen Odisha’s position as a preferred investment destination and accelerate its industrial growth trajectory.
