New Delhi: The Odisha government on Thursday successfully held an Ambassadors’ Meet in New Delhi as a significant initiative to attract investment during Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 with the Chief Minister inviting countries to join the state’s growth story.

The meet showcased Odisha’s vibrant industrial ecosystem and highlighted new investment opportunities to a global audience.

The event was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Consul-Generals, Trade Commissioners, and senior diplomats from 34 countries, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.

Notable nations included Indonesia, Norway, Singapore, China, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, the USA, Thailand, Vietnam, and the UK. In addition, nine foreign associations participated, reflecting the growing global interest in Odisha.

In his keynote address, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi warmly welcomed the ambassadors, and emphasised Odisha’s rich history and strategic location, which are key factors in its transformation into a leading investment destination.

The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s abundant natural resources and skilled workforce, inviting all attendees to the upcoming Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, which will serve as a platform for collaboration and growth.

The event also included an interaction session where ambassadors engaged in discussions about opportunities in Odisha.

In his concluding remarks, Industries and Skill Development & Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain reinforced Odisha’s vast potential for investment across various sectors and assured the ambassadors of the government’s commitment to creating a favourable business environment.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja welcomed everyone and emphasised that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Odisha is quickly becoming a global investment destination. He spoke about the state’s strong infrastructure, rich resources, skilled workforce, and progressive policies. He invited global partners to explore the many opportunities available in industries, technology, tourism, and innovation.

The event also featured the release of a video about the Make in Odisha 2025 initiative, which showcased the potential of the state.

Principal Secretary of Industries Hemant Sharma made a presentation highlighting various sectors that are open for investment.

Several notable speakers addressed the audience, including Ms. Jyoti Vij, the Director General of FICCI, who talked about the importance of collaboration.

A. Ajay Kumar, the Joint Secretary (States) at the Ministry of External Affairs, emphasised the central government’s support for Odisha’s development. Nivruti Rai, Managing Director of Invest India, discussed the investment trends in the region.

The Ambassadors’ Meet successfully set the stage for Odisha to position itself as a key player in attracting global investments. The state government looks forward to welcoming international partners to the Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, scheduled for January 28-29, 2025, in Bhubaneswar. This event will explore even more opportunities for collaboration and growth, the CMO statement added.
