Bhubaneswar: Senior Odisha cadre IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal, now Additional chief secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is set to proceed on central deputation.
The 1993-batch IAS officer has been posted as Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs, by the Union government, following approval accorded by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). He will assume charge after the superannuation of Umang Narula on June 30.
Dhal has worked in several responsible positions of the state government. He was the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) before being appointed as ACS to CM.
The simultaneous elections to Assembly and Lok Sabha were peacefully conducted in the state recently under the supervision of Dhal.
Two other Odisha cadre IAS officers – Santosh Sarangi & Ranjana Chopra have also got new postings.
Sarangi, a 1994-batch officer who is now the Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, has been posted as Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
Ranjana Chopra, also of 1994-batch and now Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Culture, has been appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Culture.
