CM Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates Manmath-Manoj Memorial & Projects Worth Rs 2200 Cr In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday virtually inaugurated various projects worth Rs 2,200 crore, including the Manmath Das and Manoj Das memorial at Sankhari village under Bhograi tehsil, in Odisha’s Balasore district.

The CM also inaugurated the LABHA Scheme in Nilagiri, city bus service in Balasore, and gave land rights certificates to the residents of Remunā Notified Area Council. The LABHA Scheme would give people of Nilagiri rights over minor forest produce.

The Manmath-Manoj Memorial has been established in memory of eminent historian Manmath Das and his legendary writer brother Manoj Das at a cost of Rs 16 crore.

Paying tributes to them, the CM said their contribution in the field of history and literature has immortalised them. He thanked their families for cooperating with the government in establishing the memorial.

Naveen further said all the projects inaugurated were taken up based on the feedback received by 5T Chairman VK Pandian from people during his visits to the district.

“It is a historic day for people of Balasore. The state government’s effort to preserve the memory of two great sons of this soil has made the people of the district happy. The memorial houses the materials collected from Bhubaneswar and Pondicherry which will be of help to researchers and litterateurs in the future,” said Language Literature and Culture Minister Aswini Patra.

Balasore MLA Swarup Kumar Das and Bhograi MLA Ananta Das thanked the CM for different development projects in the district.
