Bhubaneswar: Despite a marginal increase in the night temperature in the north and coastal Odisha, there has been no let up in the cold wave condition in the western part of the state and it will continue till January 15, said the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, in an afternoon release on Wednesday.
According to the release, the blowing of the sea wind towards the surface area has resulted in the rise in the night temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius in the north and coastal districts in the last two days. Due to the change in the wind direction, night temperature in these regions will increase gradually. However, there will be no change in the cold wave condition in the interior region, which will continue till January 15, it added.
Meanwhile, the temperature recorded in the state on Wednesday was lowest at 7.5 degree Celsius in Phulbani. Besides, the temperature remained under 10 degree Celsius at eight other places – Titlagarh (8.5), Koraput (8.6), Bhawanipatna (9), Sundargarh (8.5), Sambalpur (9.5), Keonjhar (9.4), Jharsuguda (9.8) and Angul (8).
The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 12 and 12.4 degree Celsius respectively.
