Cold Wave Intensifies In Odisha, Phulbani Shivers At 4.5°C

Bhubaneswar: The cold wave condition in Odisha intensified on Tuesday with the night temperature dipping to single digit at nine places in the interior districts.

Phulbani was the coldest at 4.5°C, followed by Daringbadi (7.5), Balangir (7.8), Jharsuguda (8.2), Keonjhar (8.2), Bhawanipatna (8.5), Sonepur (9.5), Angul (9.6) and Baripada (9.6).

Apart from this, the night temperature remained below 15°C at 16 places in Balasore (11.5), Chandbali (12) Paradip (14.3), Angul (11.6), Sambalpur (11.3), Sundargarh (10.5), Hirakud (10.9), Talcher (12.3), Bhawanipatna (10), Koraput (10.2), Titlagarh (11.3), Malkangiri (12.5), Nayagarh (12) and Boudh (11).

The night temperature recorded in Cuttack was 11.8°C and it was 13°C in Bhubaneswar.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the intense cold wave condition will prevail in Odisha till February 5 with the night temperature falling by 3-5°C.
