New Delhi: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) passed a resolution on Saturday requesting Rahul Gandhi to take up the role of the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.
“CWC unanimously requested Rahul Gandhi to take the position of the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha…Rahul ji is the best person to lead this campaign inside the Parliament, senior party leader KC Venugopal said at a presser.
Rahul Gandhi will decide on this very soon, Hindustan Times reported quoting Venugopal.
After its poll debacle in 2014, it is for the first time Congress will get the post of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. In both 2014 and 2019 elections, it had failed to get the requisite 10 per cent of total seats in the House.
Venugopal further said the revival of Congress has begun and the atmosphere in the CWC is entirely different from what it was four months ago.
