Containment Zone Declared In Odisha’s Tangi After 8 Of Family, Woman Test COVID Positive

Khurda: The Khurda district administration declared Tangi panchayat as a containment zone for three days on Friday after eight members of a family and a woman in the neighbourhood tested positive for COVID-19.

The containment period will remain in force till 7 pm of July 5 (Sunday), Khurda Collector Sitanshu Kumar Rout said.

Rout informed that a male member of the family was in home quarantine after his return from New Delhi. Following this, swab samples were collected from the man along with 7 members of his family and a female neighbour. All the tests came positive for the virus.

“Following a request by local residents and the recommendation of the local sarpanch, the district administration declared Tangi panchayat a containment zone and directed the authorities concerned to completely sanitize the area,” the collector said.
