Cuttack: A contractor was found dead with bullet injuries in his head at his house at Postal Colony in Kalyani Nagar of Cuttack district on Wednesday. A revolver was found near the body.
The deceased was identified as Biswabhusan Singh (45).
Singh was found lying in a pool of blood by his family members. They rushed him to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
According to locals, Singh might have committed suicide by shooting himself with the revolver as he was under mental stress over the past six months. He used to stay detached from his family and friends, they said.
Police have started investigation on basis of the statements of his neighbours and sent the body for autopsy to ascertain the exact reason behind the death.
