Cuttack: A police station under Athagarh sub-division in Cuttack district was declared a containment zone after the inspector-in-charge (IIC) tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday.
Athagarh SDPO Alok Ranjan Ray told the media all 22 staffers of the police station will undergo COVID-19 test. “All of them are inside the police station since yesterday,” he said.
Health officials have already collected swab samples of seven to eight police personnel, who had complained of mild fever.
Swab sample of the SDPO, who visited the police station, and two drivers will also be collected for the test, official sources said.
The concerned police station was sanitised on Saturday and the process will be continued for two to three days, the sources added.
Odisha has been witnessing a rise in infection among corona warriors with media reports putting the number at 400.
