Berhampur: Entry of patients except serious cases have been restricted to the District Headquarters Hospital at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district on Sunday for one day after 10 of its staff including doctor, nurse and laboratory technician tested positive for the coronavirus.
Many patients were asked to vacate the hospital and go home to facilitate sanitization of the hospital building and several wards, sources said. The main gate of the hospital has been closed and only serious patients are allowed to enter after health screening.
Meanwhile, Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha said the district reported 12 corona positive cases on the day. All of them have been admitted in COVID Hospital and Covid Care Centres.
The total number of corona positive cases in the district stands at 459 while 303 have recovered and 156 are under treatment, the Collector said.
