Berhampur: Seven Notified Area Councils (NACs) in Ganjam district on Wednesday were shut down for six days from July 16 to 21.
Announcing the shutdown, Sub collector Chatrapur Priya Ranjan Prusty said the decision was taken to break the coronavirus chain and contain further spread of the deadly virus.
The NACs that were shut down are Chatrapur, Rambha, Khallikote, Polsara, Kodala, Kabisurya Nagar and Purushottampur.
The people of these areas have been advised to purchase the essential commodities till 4 pm on Wednesday. The announcements were made by the NACs concerned through public announcement system. They were also told to remain indoor and cooperate with the district administration.
These seven NACs were also under shutdown from July 9 to 13 when entire Ganjam district was under the restrictions for five days.
