Coronavirus Pandemic: AirAsia Offers Free Tickets To Fill Seats; Kuala Lumpur To Langkawi At Rs 200!
With a sharp decline in number of flyers amid the coronavirus outbreak, AirAsia is offering jaw-dropping discounts on its tickets to fill seats.
The low-cost airline’s ‘Big Sale’ has around six million heavily discounted seats in total. Even some seats are priced at ‘zero-fare’ for which passengers will just have to pay the taxes.
The promotion will run till March 15 and passengers can book tickets till July 1, 2021. Destinations include Australia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
The ‘zero-fare’ deal has seats on domestic flights from Kuala Lumpur to other destinations in Malaysia such as Johor Bahru, Penang, Langkawi, Alor Setar and Kota Bharu. Passengers will have to pay taxes and a passenger service charge of 12 Malaysian Ringgit or just Rs 200.
Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur is available for as low as Rs 3484.
Also, premium flatbed seats from Kuala Lumpur to Bali and Ahmedabad is available for just 599 Malaysian Ringgit or Rs 10,000 one-way.
The Indian government has asked airlines to consider removing cancellation fees. Go Air has announced that it will not take cancellation charges for flights booked till April 30. Air India, Spice Jet, Indigo have announced zero charges for date changes. Vistara has removed cancellation charges for flights booked before March 1.
