Rourkela: Major health scare has gripped Odisha with denizens retuning to the state from the coronavirus-hit China.
Four China returnees in the state are currently being kept under observation in their respective houses in Sundargarh district.
Among them is a couple and their child, who had returned to Sundargarh about 10 days ago. They were screened at Veer Surendar Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, when they landed in the state.
Besides this family of three, another person has returned to Basanti colony from China. He had travelled via Tata to Rourkela.
Sundargarh Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer Dr Saroj Kumar Mishra said that trained health workers are examining the four people every day. They have not showed any symptoms of coronavirus till date.
“They have been asked take precautionary measures including covering their faces with masks. After being examined and observed for another five days, they will be released from house quarantine,” he added.
