Coronavirus Scare: Odia Missing From Centre’s ‘Namaste’ Advisory

New Delhi: The Electronics & Information Technology Ministry on Sunday issued a visual advisory to “avoid shaking hands and do Namaste” to protect oneself from coronavirus.

The advisory shows ‘Namaste’ written in Hindi across a pair of joined palms as per the traditional Indian greeting. The advisory also presents the local synonyms of Namaste in 16 other Indian languages, including Gujarati, Gurumukhi, Bengali Telugu, Tamil and Urdu among others.

However, the Odia language is glaringly missing from the central advisory against the novel coronavirus.
