Corruption Charge: Delhi L-G To Take Legal Action Against AAP Leaders

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been demanding the resignation of Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, having levelled charges of corruption against him.

On Wednesday, Saxena vowed to take legal action against AAP leaders for “highly defamatory and false allegations” of corruption against him.

Saxena refuted AAP leaders’ charge of Rs 1,400-crore corruption when he was Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) chairman as a “figment of their imagination,” PTI quoted L-G House officials as saying.

Legal action will be taken against Saurabh Bhardwaj, Atishi, Durgesh Pathak and Jasmine Shah, among others.

According to AAP, Saxena pressured two of his subordinates to get demonetised currency notes worth Rs 1,400 crore exchanged during his term as KVIC in 2016.

AAP and BJP leaders have been trading corruption charges for some time now. While AAP is seeking resignation of Saxena, BJP MLAs are pressing for the sacking of ministers Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia over alleged corruption allegations.
