Couple Arrested For Murder Of Wife’s Lover In Odisha’s Koraput
Koraput: Police have arrested a couple for allegedly killing the wife’s lover in Odisha’s Koraput district.
According to sources, Rahul Santal, a worker in a tent house, was in love with the married woman of Anakadeli village under Machhkund police station of the district. They continued their relationship secretly for almost a year till the woman’s husband Munna Din came to know about it a few days back.
Munna counselled his wife and advised her to cut off the relationship with Rahul as it would earn ill name for them in the village and they might be ostracised. Convinced by her husband, the woman told Rahul not to meet her any more.
But Rahul wanted to continue the affair and pestered the woman to meet him in secret places. Feeling harassed by Rahul’s behaviour, she informed her husband. The couple then hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Rahul.
As per their plan, the woman called up Rahul over phone and told him to come with beer to meet her in her house on last Tuesday night. After Rahul arrived with beer, the woman put rat poison in the bottle and served it to him. As Rahul died after drinking the poison laced deer, Munna took the body and dumped at a deserted place.
As Rahul did not return at night, his family searched for him and finally filed a missing case at Machhkund police station. After registering the case, the police started investigation.
During investigation, the police suspected the role of the woman and questioned her in the police station. During questioning, she revealed the details of the crime. The police arrested the woman and Munna and forwarded them to court on Saturday.
