Jajpur: In an unfortunate incident, a couple died at Kotapur under Dharmasala block in Jajpur district on Saturday after allegedly consuming poisonous liquor.
The deceased were identified as Bhaskar Chandra Das (65) and his wife Sony Das (63) of Itagadi village in Bhadrak district.
Following the incident, some villagers demanded action against local liquor traders who have been illegally selling alcohol in the region.
Police have sent the bodies for postmortem and started investigation into the matter.
