COVID-19: 1913 New Cases Reported In India, Highest Spike In A Day

New Delhi: For the first time, more than 1900 new cases of coronavirus were reported in India over a 24-hour span.

The government of India revealed on Friday that there have been 1,913 fresh coronavirus positive cases, taking the total number to 35,365.

The death toll in the country stands at 1,152, while 9064 people have recovered from the Covid-19 infection which has brought the world to a standstill.

As per Union Health ministry figures, Maharashtra continue to have the highest number of infections, the number being 10,498, followed by Gujarat (4,395) and Delhi (3,515).

The government on Friday extended the nationwide lockdown by two weeks, till May 17.
