Bhubaneswar: Soon after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik accorded frontline COVID warrior status to working journalists in the state on Sunday, the BMC announced their vaccination at a special camp in the city from Monday.
As per instruction of Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Prem Chandra Chaudhary, the journalists will be administered COVID vaccine at Jatri Niwas, Cuttack Road on May 3.
The BMC has made arrangement of special camps for the vaccination of the journalists at the facility. Those in the age group of 18-44 years can avail the facility from 11 AM to 2 PM and those belonging to 45 and above age group from 3 PM to 5 PM. Maximum 100 persons could be accommodated in the 18-44 age group and 50 in 45 plus group.
The commissioner has requested the media houses to send the list of the journalists’ names of their organisations to him by 11.30 pm. The final list of the persons to be vaccinated will be shared before 10 am on Monday. If the list crosses 150, the respective names will be shifted to next day, he added.
The journalists have been told to come with Aadhaar Card and identity card for on-the-spot registration to avail vaccination.
