Berhampur: Amid the continuing surge in COVID-19 cases, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange on Wednesday ordered for sealing of the Ganjam-Khurda border to prevent movement of persons between the two districts.
The Ganjam administration tweeted that no person will be allowed to travel to Bhubaneswar from Ganjam and urged the people of the district to cooperate.
Meanwhile, urban areas in the district are under complete shutdown till July 13 to break the chain of the coronavirus transmission. Door-to-door health screening will be conducted in all NACs, Hinjilicut Municipality, all block headquarters and Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) areas during this period.

The district administration has also shut down the OPD of the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for COVID-19 containment. All entry points of the medical campus except the main gate has been sealed. Only emergency patients and staff will be allowed into the hospital campus. An additional police force has been deployed in Berhampur city to maintain law and order.
