Bhubaneswar: Drug Control officials raided a fake hand sanitiser manufacturing unit in Jharapada on Monday.
According to officials, fake hand sanitisers were being manufactured without any licence.
Police has detained two persons involved in the racket.
Duplicate hand sanitisers worth Rs 2 lakh, artificial colours and other chemicals were seized from the fake sanitiser manufacturing unit.
The scarcity of hand sanitisers and masks and the surging demand for them have made fraudsters come up with various artificial products to dupe the panic-stricken public amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
