COVID-19 Hospital Loses Licence For Overcharging Patients
Thane: A private hospital in Thane near Mumbai lost its licence for allegedly overcharging patients.
The Thane Municipal Corporation cancelled the hospital’s classification as a COVID-19 facility over the allegations, reported news agency PTI.
The civic body had set up an audit team to examine bills and detected excess billing amounting to Rs 6,08,900 in 56 bills of 797 patients treated by the hospital till July 12, an official said.
The civic body has also assigned two officials to monitor the treatment of patients who are presently admitted at the hospital and ensure that they are not overcharged, he added.
